The Orange-Ulster BOCES Chester Academy Satellite is located in the Chester Central School District. This program strives to follow the philosphy that children with disabilities should be given the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential.
The Chester Academy Satellite Program serves students ages 13 to 16 years (grades 9 through 12). The staff works to provide the best care and education that expertise, technology and experience can offer. The goal of the program is to enable students to become as independent as possible, more self-sufficient and empowered, better able to exercise some control over their own lives and to function productively and successfully as integral members of their family and the larger community. In meeting Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and diploma criteria, teachers modify and adapt the course material to satisfy curriculum requirements.
