The John A. Flannery Middle School Girl's Club recently collected supplies for the Blooming Grove Humane Society. These dedicated young ladies are very passionate about this cause.  Mackenzie Tubbs, who spearheaded this community service project, said, "My mom is a veterinary assistant and I had animals growing up.  They always make me happy! They are good to come home to."

The Girls' Club collected over three car loads of pet food, cleaning supplies, and other pet necessities for the animal shelter.  This is just one of the many community service projects that the JAFMS Girls Club members have initiated this year.  During the holidays they collected a variety of personal items and treats that were delivered to the local women's shelter.  They are currently working on Easter baskets to be delivered to children in a temporary housing shelter in Middletown.  Para educator Katie Lane works closely with the girls and says, "The generosity and hard work of the girls is inspiring!"
