The Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education Center inducted 165 members into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) in a ceremony at the Emanuel Axelrod Education Center on June 6, 2024. The OU BOCES chapter of the National Technical Honor Society distinguishes, honors and encourages students who excel at their career and technical education studies and who possess admirable character, attitude, and a strong intellect.
The students inducted have maintained a 95% average or better in their CTE classes, have at least a 95% attendance rate, and are involved in school and/or community service. Seniors were presented with shawls to wear at their Recognition Ceremony. The induction included the traditional candle lighting ceremony before the candidates took the Honor Society Pledge.
The advisors for the OU BOCES Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society are Patricia Babcock, Kevin Trass and Alison Miller.
The ceremony recognized the students’ high academic achievement and their commitment and involvement in extracurricular activities.
