CTE Alum Visits Transportation Academy

CTE alum, Douglas Houck, visited the Transportation Careers Academy on March 16, 2023.  Douglas spoke to students about his career path after graduating from Orange-Ulster BOCES and Minisink Valley High School in 2004. Douglas began as an Automotive Technology student at CTE, went on to earn his Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology, and then his Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology from SUNY Morrisville. After working as a technician for Healey Ford in Goshen, he became the Lead Test Technician for VCT/Advanced Technology group for BorgWarner, an industry leader in automotive manufacturing and engineering. There he manufactured and tested components for engine timing systems on various major automotive manufacturer's engines and drive chain mechanism for drivelines. In 2022, Douglas became a full-time college instructor at SUNY Morrisville. Returning to CTE, Douglas spoke to first- and second-year students about the education and career opportunities available to them in the automotive field and enjoyed visiting with his former CTE instructor, Todd Boniface, also a SUNY Morrisville graduate. BOCES is proud to celebrate another successful CTE graduate!
