CTE Students Shine at 2026 SkillsUSA Area IV Regionals

Students from Orange-Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Education programs delivered outstanding performances at the 2026 SkillsUSA Area IV Regional Competition, showcasing their skills, professionalism, and dedication to excellence.

Competing alongside more than 500 students from 14 schools on Feb. 28 and hosted by Southern Westchester BOCES in Rye Brook, OUB students showcased their skills, professionalism, and determination that define CTE excellence. Across 40 competitions - ranging from Animal Careers and  Criminal Justice to Carpentry and Digital Cinema - they showcased the hands-on training and real-world preparation they receive every day in their programs.

"I couldn't be more proud of our students for their contributions, dedication, and efforts throughout the competition,” said OUB Principal Eugene Hewitt. “They represented themselves, their programs, and Orange-Ulster BOCES in the finest light. They should be extremely proud of themselves, as we all are of them."

Students compete in local events to qualify to attend their state conferences, and those winners move on to the SkillsUSA Championships. NYS SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Championships will be held April 22-24 at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

Congratulations to all of the competitors for representing their programs with pride and excellence.
