We are incredibly proud of our Valedictorian, Seth Monchery, and our Salutatorian, Isabell Herrera, from the John A. Flannery High School Program at Orange-Ulster BOCES!
Their remarkable successes and the positive impact they have made on our school community was celebrated May 27 at the annual Orange-Ulster BOCES Outstanding Student Honoree Awards, where outstanding students from high schools across the region were also recognized.
Seth Monchery | Valedictorian
Seth is a dedicated and resilient individual whose high school career is defined by his incredible perseverance and community spirit. A recipient of the prestigious Sojourner Truth Award, Mr. Monchery has also earned his Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) credential, reflecting his strong work ethic and readiness for the future. A natural leader who brings people together, Mr. Monchery has spent all four years on the Middletown football team where he was honored with the “Glue Award” for keeping his team united and strong. Showing his drive to try new things, he joined the track team for the first time this year and has absolutely loved being a part of it. His dedication to discipline and teamwork also shines through his years of active participation in both ROTC and karate. Following high school, Mr. Monchery will continue his education at Orange County Community College where he will undoubtedly continue to be a positive force and a unifying leader. ORANGE-ULSTER BOCES
Isabella Herrera | Salutatorian
Isabella is a shining example of talent and dedication. While being recognized today by John A. Flannery High School, she has also thrived in the CTE esthetics program, earning a well-deserved CTE Award for her outstanding work. Throughout her time in school, Ms. Herrera has excelled both academically and socially. What truly sets her apart is her genuine kindness, positive character, and the wonderful energy she brings to those around her. Armed with excellent skills and a passion for her craft, she is ready to turn her talents into a successful career as an esthetician. With her strong work ethic and caring personality, she has a very bright future ahead.
