The Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical Education Center inducted 145 members into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) in a ceremony. The OU BOCES chapter of the National Technical Honor Society distinguishes, honors and encourages students who excel at their career and technical education studies and who possess admirable character, attitude, and a strong intellect.
The students inducted have maintained a 95% average or better in their CTE classes, have at least a 95% attendance rate, and are involved in school and/or community service. In addition, students can have no more than six unexcused absences through the third quarter.
Seniors were presented with shawls to wear at their Recognition Ceremony. The induction included the traditional candle lighting ceremony before the candidates took the Honor Society Pledge.
The advisors for the OU BOCES Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society are Kevin Trass and Patricia Babcock.
The new inductees joined 28 current National Technical Honor Society members at the ceremony that recognized their high academic achievement and commitment and involvement in extracurricular activities.
