OU BOCES honors 37 retiring employees

A farewell reception was recently held for 37 retiring employees at Orange-Ulster BOCES. William J. Hecht, OU BOCES Chief Operating Officer, hosted the afternoon festivities that celebrated the exemplary service of these retirees.

All of the retirees were congratulated for their success as valuable BOCES staff members and for outstanding commitment to their profession. This year’s reception continued the tradition of presenting each retiree with a challenge coin. Rooted in military history, challenge coins are imprinted with an organization’s insignia and were originally carried by the organization’s members for identification purposes. They are often collected by military personnel and have become a symbol of pride, teamwork and unity, as we hope they will be to our retirees.

The reception provided an opportunity for members of the OU BOCES administrators and the retirees' colleagues to honor these dedicated staff members for their service, wish them all the best in retirement, and to bid a fond farewell.
