Mechatronics and Robotic Engineering is a two-year program where students will develop skills that are transferable to many different careers particularly in the field of engineering. Mechatronics is the combination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering that will provide students with the skill set to think of creative solutions to real world problems. This program will touch on a broad range of knowledge useful in various engineering disciplines.
Students will gain an understanding of each of the three components and how each of them contributes to the design and creation of new products. Students will learn the different uses of robotics and will be able to combine each of the components as they design their own robot. For each of the components students will have to design and create an innovative product that addresses a real life need or solves a real world problem. In the second half of the Year 2 program, students will take part in a final project. This project will be designed to allow students to apply what they have learned to design a product that provides a solution to a real world problem. This final project will be assessed on innovation, creativity, and the ability to solve a particular problem within modern day society.

About the Program:
Hospitality/ProStart is a program for high school students who are interested in culinary arts and the food service industry. It is offered by CTE in conjunction with the Valley View Center for Nursing Care, Sapphire Nursing and Rehabilitation of Goshen, Glen Arden of Goshen, and Middletown Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
Students learn fundamentals of the food service industry. Classroom experience provides students with the important skills they need for success in the industry. Students are transported from CTE to the facilities where they work with personnel in either small groups or one-on-one. The students are supervised by Certified Teachers, Assistants, and Aides. At these facilities, students work with chefs and dietary staff to accomplish goals, learn a variety of culinary skills such as knife skills, reading, following recipes and baking/cooking various types of foods.
In this mentored work experience, students receive support, character development, and real-world skills. In addition, they learn to become independent workers and expand their ServSafe and basic nutritional knowledge.
This program is geared for developmentally disabled students and is designed to move students from school to the workforce upon graduation by immersing them in a work environment. It also helps prepare them for post-secondary education.
Students being considered for this program should be mature, responsible, trustworthy, and have a good working attitude. Students with severe behavioral impediments would most likely not be suitable for this program.
This program provides hands-on training for skills needed for entry level employment in the automotive service industry. Basic automotive skills are practiced in the shop and are reinforced through off-site clinical experiences at automotive dealerships and repair shops. (Students participate in a variety of positions at local community work sites.)
After completing one year of the Vehicle Maintenance program, students have the option of entering General Service, Collision Repair Technology, or Heavy Equipment during their second year at CTE. Students requiring additional time to develop the skills needed to transition to the workplace may attend Vehicle Maintenance for a second year with approval from their instructor and guidance counselor.
